The DMS area supports document workflow: people open DMS to work through assigned documents, while administrators maintain protocol types, document statuses, and departments so classifications stay consistent.
What it offers. The main entry is DMS (assigned documents): you see what is allocated to you, update details, and move items through the agreed process instead of chasing files across folders and email. Depending on permissions, the same area can include reference lists—Protocol types, Document statuses, and Departments—so everyone uses the same structure. Some roles may also see Clients alongside DMS when that supports your process.
How to use it. Open DMS for day-to-day work on assigned documents; use the lookup screens when you need to adjust how types, statuses, or organisational units are defined. Work with your administrator if a menu item you expect is not visible.
Time saved. Clear ownership of documents, less time searching for the latest version, and fewer handovers that depend on informal channels—especially when audit or compliance needs a traceable status.
Note. DMS is available when your organisation uses the document workflow capability and your profile includes DMS access. Not every user sees every menu item; your administrator can confirm what applies to you.
